Samsung going after ebook market, at least in South Korea

samsungebookreader-lgSamsung announced their new SNE-50K today, an ebook reader with a few interesting features hiding inside. Like the ability to display not just PDF files, but Microsoft Office Documents.

Of course this product isn’t available in the US yet, but Samsung has stated that a version of it will be shown at CES next year, so you’ll have to be patient. It’s fairly small, measuring only 5 inches, but has a reported battery life of 4,320 page views on a single charge, and comes with a meager 512MB of built-in memory.

Expected price is around $274, and there is no release date information at this time.
