4,500 lumens: Sanyo to roll out brightest mobile projector out there

Sanyo has today announced a new mobile projector for the Japanese market, the LP-XU106 [press release in English]. The device is the brightest in its weight class (under 4kg), producing a respectable 4,000 lumens. It’s sized at 334.2×257.5×78.4mm and weighs just 3.4kg.

Other specs include a contrast ratio of 1,000:1, a 275W lamp, LAN, a 1W mono speaker and the so-called “corner keystone correction function” that corrects the projected images when you can’t place the projector directly in front of the screen (see the graphic below for a detailed explanation).

Sanyo has written the press release in English, but doesn’t say when users outside Japan can buy the LP-XU106. In this country, it’ll hit stores November 20, costing $5,800.
