Acer Aspire AS5740 arrives Stateside

Some companies come up with really convoluted naming processes, and Acer is guilty of it with their latest Acer Aspire AS5740 hitting Stateside. Powered by the new Intel Core i3 processor, this 15.6″ laptop will come in four configurations which will further throw you off course if you want to quote its specifications to a friend over the phone. Just tell us how the heck are you supposed to remember what the AS5740-5513, AS5740-5144, AS5740-5255 and AS5740-5749 have inside? Well, that bad mojo aside, all of them will run on the Intel Core i3 330M 2.13GHz processor, where you get GMA HD integrated graphics, 4GB RAM, a 1,366 x 768 resolution display, Windows 7 Home Premium as the operating system of choice and a 6-cell battery that can run for up to four hours max before being exhausted. Pricing starts from $620 upwards.
