Most of us are so used to using Google to search for things on the iPhone that alternatives probably never cropped into mind. But with Google and Apple competing on similar fronts more often than not now, it shouldn’t be too much of a surprise to hear that Apple is in talks with Microsoft to make Bing the default search engine for the iPhone. This still in a rumor at the moment, so you might want to take it with a pinch of salt, but considering the rising popularity of Google’s Android and Nexus One, maybe there is some merit in this. Word is also going around that if the deal doesn’t work out, Apple is working on its own web search solution, though it’s hard to tell how much truth there is in that rumor.
