Augmented reality footwear from Adidas

Adidas has entered the augmented reality (AR) fray with their latest footwear range known as the Originals AR Game Pack which comprises of a series of five shoe styles that boast AR code built right into the tongue. Whenever you hold your pair of shoes in front of the webcam, the code will unlock access to an area on Adidas’s website coupled with a series of interactive games, where your shoe doubles up as a game controller. Make sure that you have great smelling feet, otherwise it would be a stench to everyone else in the vicinity as you wave that sneaker around while gaming! New games will roll out monthly between February and April, where the entire series will be unveiled from February 10 onwards. The shoes are already available in the UK as well as a handful of other countries, while those of us living Stateside will be able to get it a day after Valentine’s.
