Apple’s iPad will also double up as an ebook reader, making the Kindle and its once-rivals shake and shudder at their bezels. This potential behemoth of an ebook reader (figuratively speaking) has five large partners to offer content from, among them are Penguin, Macmillion, Simon & Shuster, HarperCollins and Hachette Book Group. An iBook Store has been created for you to download digital tomes of your choice straight onto the iPad just like the Amazon Kindle. No idea on whether you can import your own books from other libraries or not, but there is the choice of skipping a particularly boring chapter to another one, alongside photo display support for those who prefer a more visual approach to their digital reading habits. Flipping through pages will require you to tap anywhere on the right, and vice versa if you want to go back a page. Looks like the Kindle will have some real competition on its hands right now, and with the iPad’s multi-faceted capabilities, the Kindle could be at a real disadvantage.
