
With Mobile World Congress just around the corner, the Windows Phone rumors are certainly gearing up, and now many reports of a “Windows Phone 7” are making rounds, and even specific features are being touted. According to the rumor, one of the most noticeable differences is that the phone will not sport multitasking, rather applications will be paused in the background, and will support push notifications, similar to the iPhone. Other features include:
- User interface codenamed “METRO”. Will be similar to the Zune HD user interface
- No Flash support
- Application installation only through service based delivery, such as via the Marketplace.
- Application installation via storage cards are not allowed
- Marketplace will support a “try before you buy” feature
- Full Zune integration
- OEM interfaces not allowed, so there will be no more Sense UI etc
- Full XBOX gaming integration
