Opera Mini For The iPhone Sneak Peak At MWC

Opera Mini For The iPhone Sneak Peak At MWC

The folks over at Opera seem to be having some fun in the build-up to Mobile World Congress (MWC), and now the company has announced a press and partner preview of its Opera Mini browser for the iPhone at Mobile World Congress. Considering Apple’s stance on competing products, it’s rather surprising that Opera would be showing off its latest Opera Mini browser on the iPhone. Regardless of it being the latest version, the Opera Mini browser doesn’t support Flash, just like Mobile Safari. Since the browser is up and running, maybe Apple should reconsider blocking competing products on its iPhone? That being said, it probably wouldn’t be too smart to place money on Apple allowing Opera Mini on the iPhone. If things don’t work out, maybe Opera will have to get the app out via a Cydia store release? Press release.

It is the end of another era at NASA, although this one was perhaps more inevitable than others. Chief Information Officer Linda Cureton announced in a blog post over the weekend that the agency's last mainframe computer was shut down this month, marking an end to decades of room-filling computers. Needless to say, that last mainframe was considerably newer than that pictured above.… »
