Sony has just outed its first 3D-ready Blu-ray player known as the BDP-S740, where a firmware upgrade that will roll out later this summer will enable viewers to enjoy 3D content with the player. The BDP-S470 is also a social beast, allowing users to stream content from Amazon, Netflix, YouTube, Slacker, NPR and Sony among others. Heck, there is also a brand new iPhone app known as BD Remote which allows users to control the new players from their handsets directly. The BDP-S740 is one of their cheaper and more affordable Blu-ray players, let alone being 3D capable down the road, retailing for a mere $200. The Sony PS3 is starting to be a better and better buy as time goes by.
