Word is out that Android 2.1 will be made available to all US-based Android-powered smartphones before the year is over. While this is good news if it turns out to be true, one does remain wary since selected smartphones will require a wipe before it can be upgraded. Selected features like animated wallpapers will probably miss the cut for this purported universal update, although we ought to see text-to-speech support and enhanced widgets. Are you excited about this bit of news?
