Japanese robot does acrobatics easily

It isn’t easy to get a robot to move so nimbly and agile even after years of pouring millions of dollars into the lab – like the Honda Asimo. Well, Japanese hobbyist Hinamitetu has something more affordable – this DIY acrobatic gymnast robot is able to perform a mid-air somersault and grab back onto the horizontal bar without ending up being a Humpty Dumpty. You know what they say, “If at first you don’t succeed, try again.” Well, Hinamitetu certainly tried since his 7th version of the robotis able to perform acrobatics in a snap thanks to a pressure sensor that activates the grippers on contact.
