Onda VX550 portable media player

Onda has unveiled its latest VX550 portable media player which sports a display that is larger than what one would normally get, which is a 5″ screen at 800 x 480 resolution. While it can’t show 1080p videos in its full glory, the device can still output it over to a Full HD TV thanks to its HDMI port. You can also hook up a USB device to this for quick file transfer and viewing. Supported video formats include RM/RMVB, MKV (H.264), AVI, MOV, FLV, MPG, VOB, DAT and TS. No idea on pricing or availability, although we suspect the former is going to cost a pretty penny.

If you do not need to drop $300 on a phone we do not blame you -- honestly, the theory makes us feel a piece dirty too. MediaTek doesn't seen any cause of it either.
