According to the latest Windows Phone 7 SDK that was released today, it seems that Microsoft’s latest mobile operating system will support DivX via DivX6. While DivX7 would probably be more welcome, it’s still a lot better than having no DivX support at all, like the iPhone. While DivX support certainly gives Windows Phone 7 a slight edge in terms for format support compared to the current version of Apple’s iPhone, there isn’t any mention of what the maximum support resolution will be, so you might want to keep an eye on that. More details on the video formats supported by Windows Phone 7 Series can be found on Microsoft’s MSDN site.
