Opera’s popular Opera Mini mobile browser has been submitted to Apple’s App Store for approval, and everybody is busy wondering whether the app will be approved or not, albeit the smart money is on the app being rejected, considering Apple doesn’t have the habit of approving products that compete with its own. For those of you who aren’t familiar with it, Opera Mini is touted as a super fast browser, which owes much of its speed to its server-side processing, with the server compressing data before it’s sent to your mobile phone, not only helping you speed up your browsing experience, it also helps you skimp on the data usage on your expensive data plan. Let’s see how things turn out. It’s hard to imagine any iPhone user out there objecting to an extra browser, though.
