Is The Military Considering Using The iPhone?

Could the military also be big fans of Apple’s iPhone? Word is going around that the military paid a visit to the folks over at Apple, and might be discussing the possibility of using iPhones for their warfighters. It would make some sense, if the iPhone does fulfill a need, after all, there’s no need to reinvent the wheel. That being said, everybody knows that Apple doesn’t like folks tinkering with its stuff, so would Steve Jobs allow the military to do whatever it pleases with the iPhone in order to secure it in the way that they want?
