Sharp’s IS01 is a new handset from AU of Japan, but this model doesn’t really impress in the Land of the Rising Sun since it comes with Android 1.6 despite having Android 2.1 hanging around for quite some time already. What we do know is, the IS01 will be powered by a speedy Snapdragon processor, where it is equipped with a QWERTY keyboard, a 5.27-megapixel autofocus camera, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity, a microSD memory card slot, a 1Seg mobile TV tuner, 4GB of internal memory, CDMA support as well as a 5″ multi-touch capacitive display at 960 x 480 resolution. Expect the Sharp IS01 to ship this coming October for a yet unknown price.
