iPad? What iPad, the Chinese ask, with a slew of ebook readers hitting the market in that part of the world lately. The SmartDevices R7 ebook reader is the latest in a growing line, where it is destined to hit the market pretty soon with its 7″ color LCD display with capacitive touchscreen capability at 800 x 600 resolution, a quartet of buttons on the front and hopefully support for a wide range of ebook formats. Apart from that, we are still kept in the dark concerning pricing and availability. Do you think if it is cheap enough, it might eat into the iPad’s sales (or any other competing devices for that matter)?
