Toshiba StorE Art 3 external hard drive

Toshiba UK has just unveiled the new StorE Art 3 external hard drive that will come in a 2.5″ form factor, capable of toting around up to 1TB worth of data. What makes these plug-and-play hard drives special would be their design that features rubber edging for bump-resistance alongside an internal shock protection sensor to protect stored data just in case you happen to experience a bad case of butter fingers at that point in time. Apart from that, you will also find the pre-installed NTI BackupNow EZTM software to come in handy since it allows you to make backup of your computer system with but a click, and even an entire system restore despite Windows not being co-operative with you. Other security features include data encryption and password protection. They will be out later this May in the UK for a yet undisclosed price.

Chief Information Officer Linda Cureton announced in a blog post over the weekend that the agency's last mainframe computer was shut down this month, marking an end to decades of room-filling computers. Needless to say, that last mainframe was considerably newer than that pictured above.… »

You wouldn't understand it by the never ending barrage of black PowerBook's through the '90s, and even the onyx MacBooks within the mid-00s, but dark-clad machines from Apple were typically non-existant until Cupertino got fascinated about laptops, excluding in fact the ill-fated Macintosh TV. Exempt from the existing 'Snow White' design ethos however, were clones sold by other… »
