
While there’s hardly any doubt that Apple’s iPhone is incredibly successful, whether it would be able to crack the tricky Japanese market is another issue. But according to recent stats, those worries were probably unfounded, as Apple has more or less dominated the Japanese smartphone market, holding a healthy 72.2 percent of said market, while its closest rival, HTC, has just 11.1 percent. It’s worth noting that folks in Japan normally opt for phones that don’t have smartphone operating systems, but are jam packed with proprietary features from carriers. That being said, it’s still an incredible achievement.
