The CHARLI (Cognitive Humanoid Autonomous Robot with Learning Intelligence) robot unveiled by Dr. Dennis Hong and his students from Virginia Tech’s Robotics and Mechanisms Laboratory is rather cool. The fact that there are two versions of it makes it even more interesting, with the CHARLI-L (Lightweight) standing at about 135cm tall and weighing 12.5kg, while the CHARLI-H (Heavy) is a more sophisticated version with a different set of legs, allowing it to perform even better. The CHARLI-L will be competing in the Adult Size Humanoid League in this year’s RoboCup competition.
