World of Warcraft movie still in way pre-production

Waiting for the World of Warcraft movie? Prepare to keep waiting. A recent interview revealed that the movie is still in the super early stages of pre-production. They’re still going over the story at meetings, still trying to figure out how to adapt the entire Warcraft universe to the big screen. Movies take a long time to create.

The interview, with Blizzard’s head gentleman in charge of Creative, does show that Bliizard and the relevant parties aren’t content with producing a piece of junk, then expecting us fans to go out and see it. That’s probably wise: if the movie is going to be any kind of success it’s going to need the support of its fans, if only because World of Warcraft doesn’t exactly have Batman-level recognition.

My intention with the feature is that it is as close as possible to what people have experienced and what they know of our canon, but we’ll have to see the way it plays out. And I don’t mean that facetiously—we’re still trying to figure it out.

At least they’re trying!

Meanwhile, you could always read WoWWiki to get your fill of WoW lore. I, myself, have invested many hours of my life leafing through that site.
