Could The BlackBerry 9670 Be A Verizon Wireless Exclusive Device?

This is still very much in the rumor bin, but word is going around that the upcoming BlackBerry 9670 clamshell device might be a Verizon exclusive. According to the rumor, Verizon asked RIM to build such a device, according to their specifications, which included a clamshell form factor, 5-megapixel camera and an updated user interface. If the rumor is true, Verizon would have the exclusive rights to the 9670 in the US, while Vodafone would have a similarly exclusive deal over in Europe. The 9670 is designed as a hip device targeted at the younger generation and has apparently been told to hit a specific price point, which suggests that this phone might not break the bank, news that is very much welcome. Do you think that there is any truth in this?
