
If you were to tell someone 10 years ago that Apple would usurp Motorola as the top US phone maker, that person would probably have placed you in a straightjacket. Fast forward a decade and this seemingly impossible scenario has come true, with Apple recently overtaking Motorola as the top US phone maker, moving 8.8 million iPhones in the first quarter of 2010 with Motorola back in second place, behind by some 300,000 devices sold.
