Hauppauge has rolled out its MediaMVP-HD Digital Media Player that will jump straight into the world of full High Definition, offering support for 1080p video via HDMI. Apart from that, you will also find that it is equipped with a UPnP client capable of streaming shared photo, music, and video files from networked computers as well as other storage devices over an Ethernet connection. The USB port also lets you hook up a USB flash drive or external storage drive for additional playback from other sources. Other connectivity options include component, composite, and S-Video, where the Hauppauge MediaMVP-HD is tipped to hit the US market this summer for $149.99. Expect the hacker community to have a field day with this since it runs on Linux.
