Traditional Japanese vehicle gets electric engine

The Japanese surely love their environment with the latest release of an electric vehicle that comes with a trio of wheels, an equal number of seats all packaged in a purely traditional Japanese design. The four companies behind this hopes for it to be a tourist attraction where it will be based in ancient cities such as Kyoto and Nara. As part of its traditional Japanese design, it will see two doors made of “washi” (traditional Japanese paper) coated with vermilion lacquer. The rechargeable lithium-ion batteries can also be juiced up using home electrical outlets, and are capable of pushing the engine at a maximum speed of 40kph. It will cost around $24,950 each, where the companies involved hope to lower its total cost to $10,850 per vehicle in due time if response to it is encouraging.
