The PS3 Torne digital TV tuner might have been introduced just a couple of months ago, but Sony has already planned an update for it, bumping the version number up to 2.0 where it will introduce new DVR features that are touted to improve the experience, enable MPEG-4 AVC compression to squeeze HDTV recordings by 3x that of their original size, as well as being able to start watching a program and fast forward/reverse while it’s still recording and update the user’s PSN status. This will be a free update (yay!) when June rolls around.
