Magellan Introduces New Devices In Its RoadMate GPS Series

Magellan has announced the latest devices in its RoadMate series of GPS personal navigation devices which sport free lifetime live traffic updates. This service will allow drivers to see the upcoming traffic congestion and select an alternate route. New models introduced include the 2035 that sports a 4.3-inch touchscreen and contains maps of the contiguous United States and Puerto Rico; The 2036 offers Canadian maps, a built-in AAA Tourbook and Roadside Assistance and Highway Lane Assist; while the RoadMate 2045 is the same as the 2036 but offers a microSD card slot.

The RoadMate 3045 sports a 4.7-inch display along with maps of the US, Canada and Puerto Rico. The 3045-LM offers free lifetime maps. The 3055 ditches the free lifetime maps but gains Bluetooth and voice dialing capabilities. The flagship RoadMate 3065 Commuter is rather interesting as it features Magellan’s Traffic Wake-up feature that turns the device on 30 minutes before the user’s predetermined commute time, gathering traffic information that will be fully up to date by the time the user is ready to go. Finally, the RoadMate 5045 is the same as the RoadMate 3045 but features a 5-inch display instead. These devices are currently available with prices ranging from $170 to $300.
