
Rumors were previously going around that Sony was busy working on a new type of camera, the Pellix camera with a semi-transparent and fixed mirror. If the rumor is accurate, Sony will be launching two new Pellix cameras at Photokina this September, the A55 and A33, making them the first digital Pellix cameras ever, and will feature an APS-C Exmor HD sensor. Seems that these cameras will be able to capture videos in AVCHD format, with the A55 being able to handle 1080p recording and the A33 capable of 720p recording, while keeping the size of the camera reasonably small. Another juicy bit is that these cameras are also an Alpha mount cameras, giving you a wide selection of lenses. Finally, possible benefits of this setup will include:
