Zune and United Airlines to offer inflight entertainment

United Airlines has just announced their partnership with Microsoft, where the combined efforts of both companies will offer benefits to the masses – we’re talking about offering a wider selection of music to United Airlines passengers regardless of their destination. The integration of ‘Zune inflight audio’ will enable passengers can access some 21 channels of music which are broken down into various genres. Of course, everything that you hear within will have to go through the Zune team first, so if your favorite obscure band isn’t there, you know who to send the brickbats to. Will this partnership actually raise the profile of Zune’s desktop music playing software? Perhaps, and with over 3,000 flights daily, the Zune name will definitely reach more people than ever before – perhaps we could see a Windows Phone 7 and Zune integration down the road?
