Toshiba LCD panel does 2D as well as 3D images simultaneously

Toshiba has tried their best to please everyone, and their efforts have resulted in a LCD panel which is capable of converting a 2D image partially to a 3D image, where it can then be viewed with the naked eye without the need for an extra pair of special glasses. This LCD panel will play nice with the “integral imaging method” developed by Toshiba, where it boasts nine viewpoints within a 12″ display at 1,400 x 1,050 resolution for 2D images in full screen and 466 x 350 for 3D images in full screen as well, of course. The 3D images effect are made possible courtesy of the “GRIN (gradient index) lens” that changes the distribution of refraction indexes by controlling the gradient (orientation) of liquid crystal molecules. Turning on the second panel makes it possible to show 2D images and 3D images simultaneously. Of course, this is still far from finished, and at the moment it definitely isn’t going to be too friendly for the environment (and your pocket).
