As if AT&T didn’t already have a privacy breach issue that is causing a stir, now folks who are logging in to pre-order Apple’s iPhone 4 seem to be encountering a troubling issue too. Turns out that when users login to AT&T’s system to place an order, they’re presented with someone else’s account, allowing them to check out private information such as addresses, phone calls, bills and the usual mush of private information. AT&T has apparently claimed that it has been unable to replicate the issue, but judging from the responses from users out there, plenty of folks have been able to replicate it. Apparently this could be due to a major fraud update on AT&T’s systems over the weekend, an update that probably didn’t undergo enough testing. While it might be funny to find out that you can login with your credentials and be presented with someone else’s information, you might not be too happy to realize that other folks could accidentally be pushed into your account too. Now that’s a scary thought.
