Captured Google Street View Data Included Passwords And Emails

As if things weren’t already bad enough for Google regarding the issue of it collecting personal data when performing Street View duties. While it was already known that the search engine giant managed to collect some personal data, the French National Commission on Computing and Liberty (CNIL) has announced the results of its investigations, revealing that the captured fragments included email passwords and extracted portions of email messages. While some may argue that folks shouldn’t leave their routers unsecured without a password, but the fact that Google managed to grab email passwords will certainly be a sore point to many, not to mention ammunition against Google in this case.
