Toshiba Charge Grid idea targets EVs

Toshiba has worked on their Charge Grid idea, which is actually a “charge-discharge equipment system” which relies on rechargeable batteries that are installed in various areas. This enables surplus electricity that is generated by photovoltaic (PV) cells to be used for different devices including Electric Vehicle rapid chargers. The batteries will be strategically placed in different locations to promote the use of electric vehicles (EVs) while taking full advantage of any other power sources available. Toshiba has plans to commercialize the Charge Grid system within a few years’ time, where they hope to turn a profit to offer such a service using this system.
