Toshiba Libretto W100 hands-on

To celebrate its “25 years of laptop innovation”, Toshiba is releasing a limited series of Libretto W100. The dual-display mini-computer will be used by Toshiba to test the waters and see how users react. This is important because Toshiba is not only going for an extraordinary computer design, they have also upgraded the Windows user interface to really fit the device.

I played with it shortly and I can say that this is a classy little device which is very light and cool-looking. The screen is sharp and performs well indoors (I have not tried it outside). Toshiba has been working on things like a good virtual keyboard (Window’s is pathetic) and utilities to let users choose if apps should span across one screen or two. I have not used it long enough to tell you about the pro and cons – we’ll have to see if the form factor is good, or too small. That’s not clear to me. Technical details in our previous Libretto W100 post. Official video in the full ost.
