Gateway ID Series notebook enters luxury realm

Gateway’s latest ID Series notebook is thinner and lighter than ever before, featuring an aluminum lid that ensures the thickness of the notebook remains no more than 1″ thin, while tipping the scales at a mere 5.1 pounds – pretty light for its size, of course. Underneath the hood, you will find NVIDIA’s Optimus graphics technology debuting, which translates to the ability to switch between Intel graphics and a GeForce GT 330M graphics card on-the-fly – perfect for those who want to get a boost instantly when it comes to gaming and preserve battery life when you’re crunching numbers on a spreadsheet. It will also feature a multi-touch trackpad that looks like glass when unlit, and glows when touched. Battery life is above average at around half a dozen hours before requiring you to scurry to a nearby power outlet. Other entry-level specifications include 4GB RAM and a 500GB hard drive among others, with prices starting from $680 upwards.
