HTC EVO 4G hack dispenses with 30fps cap limit

The HTC EVO 4G comes with a 30 frames per second cap, regardless of whether it runs in 2D and 3D modes. A hack has just been released, where it will break this 30fps limit. Needless to say, users who flashed a custom kernel claimed that the removal of the 30fps cap has resulted in improved touchscreen performance, although this hack is rather picky at the moment, working only on selected EVO models. Wait a minute, isn’t there only one EVO 4G in the market? Yes, but it comes in 002 and 003 batches, where only those equipped with Epson LCDs will benefit from the patch. With the possibility of HTC rolling out the kernel source in the future, this could very well mean an official fix in on the way although nothing is confirmed yet.
