Intel Updates Its Notebook CPU Lineup

Intel has upgraded its line of mobile processors recently, which now makes the Core i7 940XM Intel’s fastest quad-core notebook chip, clocking in at 2.13GHz and can be boosted up to 3.33GHz via Turbo Boost. It sports 8MB of cache and offers the same 55W power draw as the previous 2GHz Core i7. Other i7 processors include the 1.86GHz i7 840QM and the 1.73GHz i7 740QM, which boast 8MB and 6MB of cache respectively. The ultraportable notebooks are now also offered the dual-core 1.33GHz i7 660UM and 1.2GHz i5 540UM with 4MB and 3MB of cache. We’re looking forward to seeing the new processors in the upcoming notebooks, and hopefully they’ll perform well.
