Sharp Introduces The World's Smallest Digital TV Tuner

The folks over at Sharp should be all smiles at the moment, as the company has just announced that it has managed to reduce the size of its digital TV tuner component, making it about 70 percent smaller, and about 50 percent thinner than the previous model, with Sharp touting it as the world’s smallest digital TV tuner. Aside from its size, the company has managed to reduce the number of parts and elements in the component from 300 to just 80. It’s compatible with DVB-T, ATSC, ISDB-T/TB, DVB-T/T2 and CTTB and can be used in Japan, Europe, North America, China, and South America.
