PSP-4000 to launch in 2010, according to a Japanese retailer

The publication of a document featuring a reference to an upcoming PSP-4000 by a Japanese retailer (Geo) has sparked a wildfire of rumors on the web. According to the document (in Japanese), the PSP-4000 would be on the shelves sometime this year along with the freshly announced Nintendo 3DS. The issue is that Nintendo expects the 3DS to be available in the first quarter of 2011 because of supply concerns. It also seems bizarre to me that Sony would launch a new PSP, without starting to beat the drum about it at E3. That said, we never say never, so we’ll keep an eye on this — stay tuned.
