
Both the Asus Eee PC 1015PD and 1005PED have been confirmed for a US release according to a US-based Asus representative, where they will feature a new case design that will help them stand out from the rest of the Asus Eee PC 1005 series of netbooks which have already penetrated the local market here for the better part of the year. Depending on your budget as well as needs, these will come in a choice of Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz, Intel Atom N455 1.66GHz or Intel Atom N475 1.83GHz processors, where the latter two will be able to handle the faster DDR3 RAM instead of the N450′s DDR2 memory for superior performance. While pricing might be in the region of the rest of the Eee PC 1005 series, do expect to fork out a premium for the high end model that will offer future-proof (at least for a while) features such as Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity.
