HIRO III lets you feel 3D virtual objects

Stereoscopic 3D is big these days, but could the HIRO III offer something different? Perhaps, since this interface device will require you to stick your fingers within, where it will then let you ‘feel’ whatever is displayed on a computer. This is more or less a robotic hand which you can attach your fingers to, where it will get to work by simulating the size, shape, weight and texture of whatever you’re interacting with on-screen. No idea on what kind of interactive games can be programmed for such a device, perhaps a PC version of the Nintendo DS hit Trauma Centre?
