HTC Swapping AMOLED For Super LCD [Smartphones]

HTC has today confirmed rumours of a planned switch far from the availability restrained AMOLED screen tech it sticks in its Desire and Nexus One phones, with new/old and more plentiful \” Super LCD\” screens replacing them.

HTC Introduces SLCD Display Technology To Its Portfolio

Taoyuan, TAIWAN – July 26, 2010 – HTC Corporation, a world designer of smartphones, today introduced Super LCD display (SLCD) technology into a lot of HTC phones including the HTC Desire and global Nexus One later this summer. The SLCD display offers an outstanding natural balanced colour, clear contrast, broad viewing angles and improved power efficiency.

SLCD is the most recent generation of LCD technology that gives improved performance from earlier LCD panels including approximately five times better power management. SLCDs also offer an enhanced viewing experience with wider
viewing angles which can be enabled by Sony\’s new VSPEC III™ technology.
