A clever tipster pointed the folk at BGR to something rather curious hidden within iOS 4: A block of code which allows a CDMA iPhone or iPad 2 to be activated automatically without iTunes.

BGR explains that such an auto-activate code tends to expose up in iOS right before an incredible product launch and is designed to simplify field-testing. The code is usually removed right before the device launch, for sure. [BGR]
