Android: The desktop version of Trillian Astra won (however fudgingly) our Hive Five for best desktop IM client, and now you will get a similar polished, account-syncing, tabbed-messaging IM client to your Android phone.
Trillian has been out on the iPhone for a short time now, but unlike the iPhone, Android doesn’t have a feature-packed, over-the-top awesome IM client like Beejive to compete with it. Even in beta, Trillian brings a number of things to the table that currently-number-one eBuddy has yet to implement, so its release is exciting for IM-hungry smartphone users.
The first and smartest thing about Trillian, no less than in case you’re a desktop user, is that every one you could do is register together with your Astra account to get your entire accounts, custom names, and avatars to your phone’s IM client. Furthermore, Trillian already has photo sharing built-in, in addition as the facility to push notifications of recent IMs on your email if Trillian is suspended. The undeniable fact that it’s merely in beta and is already giving other clients a run for their money makes us happy, and excited to determine even more great features added inside the near future. And, after all , in the event you already use Trillian on the desktop, it’s a no-brainer.
Trillian Beta is a free download for Android devices running 1.6 and higher. It’s not in the market, so remember to allow your device to just accept non-market apps and then scan the QR code to the precise to download.
