The $35 Android tablet we referred to the alternative day is barely the beginning, it might seem, as another Indian tablet maker is preparing to unleash a purportedly low-cost, full featured device on the hundreds. Meet Allgo:
She’s a prototype for now, and the $50 ticket is just the associated fee to build one (retail can be higher), but nevertheless the rage toward seemingly mass-produced, throw-away tablets is closer today than it was yesterday.
Here’s quick demo of the unit from back in April:
What little we know of the Allgo comes from Techie Buzz, that’s reporting this weekend that the tablet will sport a 7-inch, 800×480 pixel resistive touchscreen display. Like the $35, the cost will fluctuate counting on what percentage the client-typically a government or educational institution-orders. The $50 place to begin is for a 10,000 order. One million nets you a $40 buy-in. [Techie Buzz via Liliputing]
