Engadget’s leaked images of HTC’s AT&T-bound Windows Phone 7 device show a sublime appearance with a shocking twist. The device’s body slides open in landscape, revealing not a keyboard, but an enormous speaker-just a little a design gamble.
It’ll be interesting to work out whether the phone, only designated the T8788 for now, might be successful among those searching for a media-centric device. I’m unsure what percentage times I’ve ever used a phone’s built-in speaker for music playback-and the feature’s success will in fact depend largely on how much playback quality HTC can squeeze out of a small speaker. But hey, at the very least your ringtones will sound stellar. [ Engadget via Boy Genius Report ]
