Chair + Wii Fit Balance Board + Wheeled Robot = One Happy Baby [Robots]

Chair + Wii Fit Balance Board + Wheeled Robot = One Happy Baby [Robots] Some children suffer from disabilities which forestall them from crawling around and exploring the area, but due to projects like this one they could have another solution to move around: Baby-sized motorized chairs.

This particular robotic chair contains a Wii Fit Balance Board which has a toddler seat strapped to it. The Balance Board is there to instruct the robot to travel into whichever direction the infant leans. This is often rather clever because kids are at risk of leaning toward an object they need to succeed in or are inquisitive about.

No scientific studies had been done using this chair yet, but preliminary tests are making it appear to be a hit. [ Cornell via Technology Review ]
