Turning 30 Miles Of Yarn, Computer-Controlled Airbrushes, And numerous Math Into Art [Art]

Turning 30 Miles Of Yarn, Computer-Controlled Airbrushes, And numerous Math Into Art [Art] It took 30 miles of yarn, a computer controlled airbrush system, plenty of math, and a ton of elbow grease to create this colorful web. It will take just one tiny pair of scissors to destroy it.

The web is an art installation called Gravity’s Loom and was hooked up inside the Indianapolis Museum of Art. A specially created machine colored the yarn and cut it to the suitable length, while a collection of plain old humans hung each individual piece up.

There’s no word on what’ll happen to the yarn once the installation is removed, but I’d imagine it is usually used to make quite a lot of cats more than pleased. [ FastCo Design ]
