Hacked iPad Shown Running Chromium OS [Chromium]

While it might just be a screengrabbed imaged displayed within the Photos app, we’re inclined to believe it’s the $64000 deal as Hexxeh already has a proven track record in Chromium OS builds.

The UK-based hacker tweeted from his compromised iPad, but did say that ” I’ll dash your hopes later, there are a couple of catches.” In a reply to another tweeter , he said later that ” You could’t use it as an ordinary iPad without a restore sadly though.”

Only the only grainy picture has been published showing his iPad running the open source Chromium OS, but presumably he’ll be letting us in on some of his secrets later. [ Hexxeh via Engadget ]
