105 Big apple Roofs Have Now Been Painted White to Cool the town, But Theres 395,000,000 To move [Environment] What number gallons of paint do you reckon these guerrilla whitewashers in Big Apple City have used now, having just completed their millionth square foot of rooftop painting? That’s 105 roofs down, another…395,000,000 to move.

Once all 500 million roofs in Big apple had been painted white, that’s enough to lower the temperature by two degrees Fahrenheit. The golf green campaign not only does that little bit towards saving the planet (though some could question the origins of the paint), but can even reduce the desire for airconditioning by 50 per cent, saving money and prolonging the life of the cooling equipment.

You can become involved by painting your roof, and by checking out info on the positioning here . [ Cool Roofs via Fastco ]
